Jackson Lewis LLP Adds Partner in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, (August 31, 2009) – Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest growing workplace law firms, announced today that Magdalen Blessey Bickford  has joined the firm’s New Orleans office as a partner. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Bickford was a partner in the New Orleans office of Milling Benson Woodward, LLC, where she specialized in labor and employment law and litigation.

An AV-rated attorney and frequent speaker on employment law issues, Ms. Bickford provides consultative services to management in employment related matters and strategies. She also represents various public and private education facilities and school boards.

Ms. Bickford has lectured, counseled and litigated extensively in a wide variety of areas of employment and education law, including but not limited to, policies and procedures for employee handbooks, hiring, counseling and separation of employees, employee discipline, employee growth and development, employee benefits, worker’s compensation, non-compete agreements, compensation plans and strategies, restructuring and downsizing, union avoidance, labor management relations, collective bargaining issues, EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA and general federal and state legal compliance as well as general policies and procedures in the workplace and the educational setting.

Ms. Bickford is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, the Jefferson Parish Bar Association, the Society of Human Resources Management and the Human Resources Management Association of New Orleans. She is admitted to practice law in the Eastern, Middle and Western United States District Courts of Louisiana, the Louisiana Supreme Court and Louisiana State Courts.

She graduated cum laude from Loyola University and received her law degree from Loyola University School of Law.
