Vincent A. Cino is responsible for Jackson Lewis’ day-to-day administration and management. Prior to assuming the role of Chairman, he served as the firm’s National Director of Litigation. He also served on the firm’s Executive Committee and was Counsel to the firm.
Mr. Cino has vast trial experience, having litigated every conceivable type of employment action in many jurisdictions throughout the United States. From 1987 to 1990, Mr. Cino was Chief of Litigation in the Office of the Essex County Counsel. As Chief of Litigation for Essex County, Mr. Cino supervised a staff of attorneys as well as outside counsel. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Prosecutor for Union County. From 1981-1987, Mr. Cino was engaged in private practice in Hackensack, New Jersey, concentrating on civil litigation. He has personally tried over 100 cases.
Mr. Cino has been repeatedly recognized in New Jersey Super Lawyers and recommended by Legal 500 as one of the leading lawyers in the United States. He has also been listed in Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America©. Mr. Cino received his B.A. and a M.A. in American Government from Rutgers University. He received his J.D. from the Rutgers University School of Law.
Maurice G. Jenkins has practiced labor and employment law for more than 30 years. He has first chaired jury trials, labor and civil rights arbitrations, NLRB hearings and state civil rights administrative cases on behalf of employers in such business sectors as automotive, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, international, national and regional consumer retailers, information technology, telecommunications, gaming, and financial services. Mr. Jenkins also advises and represents employers with respect to strategic labor relations matters, collective bargaining and NLRB litigation.
In addition, Mr. Jenkins has conducted investigations of workplace fatalities, improper conduct on the part of procurement agents, and alleged workplace harassment. An accountant before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Jenkins began his professional career as a financial and tax analyst at General Motors Corporation and then, after graduating from law school, he advanced to become GM's chief NLRB litigation counsel before embarking on a career in private practice.
Mr. Jenkins has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America©, Chambers USA and Michigan Super Lawyers. He received his B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University and his J.D., cum laude, from the Michigan State University College of Law. He also earned a Certificate, Executive Education Program in Mergers and Acquisitions, from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 2001.
René E. Thorne’s practice covers the full range of employee benefit litigation matters, including representation of employers, plans, plan fiduciaries and trustees. She has handled numerous ERISA class actions and benefits and employment matters for national clients. Ms. Thorne, who has been qualified for and testified as an expert on ERISA matters in federal court, has been retained as an expert in complex ERISA breach of fiduciary duty, prohibited transaction, and cash balance cases.
Ms. Thorne has been recognized in Chambers USA, Louisiana Super Lawyersand The Best Lawyers in America©. She was recently named the 2015 Best Lawyers in America “Lawyer of the Year” (New Orleans Employment Law – Management). Ms. Thorne received her J.D. in 1993 from Loyola University School of Law, where she was a member of the Loyola Law Review and Moot Court.
