Jackson Lewis Attorneys Help Launch New Federal Bar Association Chapter in Connecticut

HARTFORD, CT (February 24, 2025) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Principals Tanya A. Bovée, Allison P. Dearington and David R. Jimenez have helped launch the District of Connecticut Chapter of the Federal Bar Association (FBA). This chapter marks the FBA’s 104th local forum dedicated to federal judges, attorneys, clerks and other legal professionals practicing in the U.S. federal court system.

“We are honored to be founding members of the District of Connecticut Chapter of the Federal Bar Association,” said Tanya, Allison and David, in a joint statement. “This chapter represents an important opportunity to strengthen the local legal community, foster collaboration among federal practitioners and contribute to the development of employment law in Connecticut. We look forward to engaging with colleagues, sharing insights, and supporting the ongoing growth of the legal profession.”

Local FBA chapters play a vital role in supporting employment law professionals by promoting communication between policymakers and regional legal practitioners. The FBA works closely with federal judges and agencies, offering its members valuable insights into workplace law interpretations and legal precedent applications. Local chapters also provide a platform for policy feedback and advocacy, enabling practitioners to address workplace issues and influence future legislation.

Tanya has more than 20 years of experience representing employers across a variety of industries, including life sciences, retail, automotive, manufacturing and hospitality. She provides practical guidance on navigating complex employment laws, such as multi-state compliance, internal complaints, leaves, performance management and terminations. Tanya has also led hundreds of in-house training sessions for executives, managers, and employees on topics including harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Additionally, she defends employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies.

Allison is the litigation manager of the Hartford office, and focuses her practice on employment litigation, including class and collective action defense and preventive counseling. She handles claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to accommodate, violations of First Amendment rights, wage and hour violations, breach of contract and denial of public accommodations. Allison also advises clients on workplace policies, employee handbooks, training programs and internal investigations. Allison earned her J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and her B.A. from Fordham University.

David serves as the national co-leader of the firm’s Corporate Governance and Internal Investigations group advising employers on complex matters and litigation, including high-stakes internal investigations, Sarbanes-Oxley Act whistleblower claims, False Claims Act litigation and executive level contracts. As co-leader, David oversees corporate investigations across the firm that are conducted for publicly traded companies, as well as privately held organizations.  He is a past president of both the Hartford County Bar Foundation and the Hartford Stage Board of Directors.  He also is a former governor-appointed member of the Board of Regents for the Connecticut State Colleges & University system and serves a current Board of Trustee on the Mark Twain House & Museum.  David earned his J.D. from Hofstra University Maurice A. Deane School of Law and his B.S. from The University of Texas at Austin.

Membership in the Connecticut Chapter of the FBA is open to all active FBA members who reside or work in Connecticut. Benefits include access to networking, mentoring, and leadership opportunities across all practice areas and career levels.
