Jackson Lewis Adds OSHA Partner to D.C. Region Office

WASHINGTON, DC (August 17, 2012) - Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Michael T. Taylor has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. Region office as Partner.  Mr. Taylor brings over 10 years of experience in the labor and employment field, with a particular emphasis on occupational safety and health law.

Mr. Taylor has extensive experience representing employers and trade associations from a wide range of industries, including health care, chemical and petrochemical, oil and gas, electric utility, manufacturing, construction, and food services, with respect to occupational safety and health law.  Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, he worked at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and Arent Fox LLP.

Mr. Taylor, who previously served as Acting General Counsel of the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, has litigated over 50 cases involving workplace safety and health fatalities and has represented clients in some of the most significant incidents in the last decade.  Mr. Taylor founded and coordinates “The OSHA Forum” for in-house attorneys, safety professionals, and health professionals at over 50 trade associations.  Held on a quarterly basis in Washington, D.C., the Forum is designed to enable trade associations to stay abreast of key OSHA-related issues across the country and inform their members regarding these emerging trends.

Mr. Taylor is currently admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and in Georgia.  He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section and a member of its Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee. 

Mr. Taylor graduated with a B.S. from Eastern Kentucky University in 1994 and earned his J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1999, receiving the Distinguished Student Award for his graduating class.  He continued his legal education at the Georgetown University Law Center where he received his LL.M. in 2001.
