Adair M. Smith Receives Federal Bar Association's PLEDGE Award

CINCINNATI, OH (May 10, 2024) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Adair M. Smith has been selected as a recipient of the Federal Bar Association's PLEDGE recognition from the John W. Peck Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Chapter. The award spotlights emerging women in litigation and the legal profession as a whole. Honorees were recognized at Prime Cincinnati on May 9, 2024.

“Adair's litigation practice embodies dedication, as highlighted by her exceptional advocacy for and responsiveness to her clients,” said Cincinnati Office Managing Principal Patricia Anderson Pryor. “She is a valued member of the firm, serving as a resource to her colleagues and clients and as a mentor to junior attorneys under her guidance. We are thrilled that Adair has received such a meaningful recognition.”

Adair is an associate in the firm’s Cincinnati office. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including litigation, preventive advice, and counseling. She has handled discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims in state and federal courts before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.

“I am honored to be a recipient of this award,” said Adair. “I am grateful for all the leaders who have paved a way for me to both have a meaningful career and a family, including my mom and all the supportive attorneys who I am able to call my colleagues.”

The Gender Equity Task Force of the John W. Peck Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Chapter of the Federal Bar Association developed PLEDGE to call attention to gender issues and, specifically, to encourage women to remain in the practice of law. The mission of PLEDGE, which stands for Promoting Lawyer Excellence through Diversity & Gender Equity, is to support and retain today’s talented female lawyers so that they can become tomorrow’s leaders and advocates.

Adair received her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and her B.A. from Furman University.
