As many employers are responding to the downturn in the economy with a workforce reduction process it’s important to consider the reasons for, alternatives to and types of reductions-in-force. We will consider the design, preparation and implementation of an involuntary reduction in force, taking into account applicable laws, necessary documentation and best practices for communicating these employment decisions to affected and remaining employees, minimizing workplace disruption and avoiding legal challenges.
