This webinar will focus on wage and hour updates. We will discuss the Department of Labor regulatory updates and case trends including the Final Rule on the proposed salary increase for the white-collar exemptions. We will also discuss the recent Supreme Court ruling overturning the decades old “Chevron doctrine” of judicial deference to a federal agency’s interpretation of an ambiguous statute. Although nothing changes today, the Loper Bright decision will make it easier to challenge regulations and could could alter the way employers must (or need not) comply with DOL guidance on a whole host of issues including independent contractor law, the 80/20 and 30-minute rules in the restaurant context. We will also discuss the latest trends in wage and hour litigation.
