Jackson Lewis Supports Wounded Warrior Project™

WHITE PLAINS, NY (July 5, 2012) – Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce the firm has raised over $11,000 in support of Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), an organization providing programs and services to injured service members as they transition to civilian life.

On Friday, May 25, in honor of Memorial Day, attorneys and staff from each of the firm’s 49 locations participated in a firm-wide “Casual Friday/Jeans Day” to raise money for WWP.  Together the firm raised over $11,000 to assist WWP in its efforts to provide programs and services to meet the needs of these brave men and women.

“We are honored to participate in such a rewarding opportunity and help a worthy cause,” said New York City Partner Matthew Steinberg, who originated the firm’s pro bono relationship with WWP. “Over the past two years, WWP has become an organization near and dear to Jackson Lewis.  As a national law firm with resources throughout the country, we believe we are in a great position to enhance the service members’ access to the legal process they regularly fight to defend. We will continue to do whatever we can to help them in their efforts to assist injured service men and women during and after recovery.”

Jackson Lewis has been involved with WWP since 2010, when attorneys around the country began providing pro bono legal services to Wounded Warriors and their caregivers.  The firm created a dedicated e-mail helpline through which wounded service members and their families are able to contact Jackson Lewis attorneys to obtain pro bono legal representation.  Since creating this helpline, attorneys in over twenty of Jackson Lewis’ regional offices have performed warrior-related pro bono work on a wide array of legal matters.

"The support WWP receives from Jackson Lewis is outstanding, and we continue to be grateful for our relationship with the firm," said Amber Allred, general counsel and executive vice president for WWP. “The Jeans Day initiative is another wonderful example of how the firm's attorneys and staff are helping WWP foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of Wounded Warriors in our nation's history."

“We believe that, in a profession dedicated to achieving justice, it is our duty to help ensure all individuals have equal access to legal representation.  By providing these services for injured service members, we are striving to be the type of corporate citizen of which all of our attorneys, employees and families can be proud,” added Steinberg.

Jackson Lewis is committed to providing pro bono representation to individuals and organizations in the various communities in which the firm practices.
